Miniature in the park
  • Dam on a mountain river in Karpacz

The dam in Karpacz was built on the river Łomnica - one of the wildest rivers in the Giant Mountains with a large gradient in the upper part. The river has brought a lot of problems over the years to the inhabitants. In 1897, after a cloudburst, the flood destroyed many buildings in Karpacz. With the taming of the river in the years 1910-1915 the dam was built with a length of 105 meters. The task of the dam is to collect not only excess water, but also the rubble carried by the current, which is a threat to local development. Built from stone blocks, the dam created a picturesque lagoon and an artificial waterfall. It is also the destination of walks and a tourist attraction of the city of Karpacz.

The miniature was built by 3 artist in 2 months.
