Spring has begun and we present our latest miniature - Castle Moszna finally outdoors. Surrounded by flowers and a miniature fountain you will feel like in a fairy tale. Last week a delegation from Moszna visited our Park - Łukasz Kosiński (Director of Administration and Marketing) and Tomasz Ganczarka (CEO). The owner of the Park - Marian Piasecki - accompanied them during their visit and presented the sights of Lower Silesia.

Since a couple of days a barrel organ plays for our visitors familiar melodies. You can expect a short concert at the Miniature of the old building on the Śnieżka mountain before 1968. In this way, we create the feeling of the 19th century. At the foot of the Śnieżka Mountain festivals were held at that time where hikers could enjoy local dishes and draft beer. Often the hikers were welcomed by barrel organ melodies. As precisely as our Miniatures were built, the barrel organ plays the tunes of that time. See for yourself when you visit our Park, open daily between 9-18 o'clock!

Last weekend, as a surprise to many tourists, the winter came back to the Giant Mountains but only for a brief moment. The snow has melted quickly and revealed the long-awaited spring. After the time change the days get longer and now we have updated our opening times. From today you can admire our Miniature Park from 9:00 until 18:00 o'clock. We cordially invite you!

Here are a few spring-like photos:

We would like to remind you that the winter time (Daylight saving time) will soon end! On March 30th the clocks will be adjusted forward one hour from 2 am to 3 am, so we have one hour less sleep. At least it will be longer bright in the evening. Soon we will also change our opening times and will be open one hour longer until 18 o'clock (6 pm). From when? We will inform you. First, we have to set all the clocks on the miniatures to summer time ;-)

Last weekend the Tourism Fair "Info Tour" took place in the Czech town of Hradec Králové. The Miniature Park in Kowary, one of the main tourist attractions in Lower Silesia, was also represented and brought the Miniature of the Vrchlabi Castle. The castle is one of the most important buildings of the Czech Giant Mountains and during the entire duration of the exhibition fascinated many visitors. Information about the castle and the Miniature Park were available in Polish, Czech, English and German language.

This year's tourism fair ITB Berlin is officially over. It took place from March 5th until March 9th. Around 10,147 exhibitors from over 180 countries from around the world were represented. As every year held in the German capital the exhibitors presented their countries and tourism products to the visitors. The ITB is the largest event of its kind in the world. The largest and most diverse presentation of all Polish regions had this year the Opole region. It was organized by the tourist office of the Opole region and the exhibition area was 45m2. Quickly it turned out that the highlight of the presentation was our latest Miniature, the Moszna Castle. Built in scale 1:25 the model is stunning 5 x 3.5 meters in size and evolved as an audience magnet at this year's ITB. The mere participation in such an important event like the ITB was a great success for us and the huge interest in our Miniature exceeded our wildest expectations.

Although the winter is not officially over the thermometer shows already temperatures above 10 degrees. Enjoy this spring-like weather during a walk through our Miniature Park. In just one hour you will visit 44 monuments of Lower Silesia and the surrounding all presented in a unique beautiful Park.

In our gift shop you might find a nice souvenir for an unforgettable day. We cordially invite you!

Yesterday Cardinal Joachim Meisner celebrated his 80th birthday and the 25th anniversary in the ministry in the Diocese of Cologne. The ceremony took place near Krzeszów. The Cardinal is connected to Krzeszów since his childhood. He was born in Wrocław and as a child was often with his parents on pilgrimages in the Cistercian abbey. The solemn Mass was held by the Bishop of Legnica Stefan Cichy and Bishop Marek Mendyk and visited by many faithful members of the community. It was a great honor for us on this special day to hand over a miniature statue of the Madonna (built by our modellers in Kowary) by Marian Piasecki to the Cardinal. The statue of the Madonna is the central part of the facade of the church in Krzeszów and particularly fascinated the Cardinal when he visited the Miniature Park in Kowary in August.

We invite you to a romantic tour of Lower Silesia in Miniature. After the visit, we recommend visiting our café. At a warming fireplace you can enjoy a delicious hot chocolate or a cup of aromatic coffee and a piece of cake. The 14th of February is the feast of Valentinus, the patron of love, and in our Park it will be unforgettable for you.

Visitors of our Miniature Park have the opportunity to learn about the history of our region and the architecture of the monuments. To make everything even more credible, the miniatures are decorated with small figures in the same scale. Soon our Miniature Park in Niechorze will be populated by figures in scale 1:10. In our Model Studio in Kowary different figures are build at the moment. The process is very difficult but worth the time, as you can see from the following pictures.

In our model studio we are currently working on the miniature of the famous Polish submarine ORP Orzeł. Originally almost 84 meters long, we build it in 1:10 scale - so it will have a length of 8.4 m. The Polish authorities commissioned the Dutch shipyard De Schelde with the construction. On February 10th, 1939 it was launched for the first time in Polish waters in the port of Gdynia. At the start of World War 2 it was initially involved in the defense of the coast and then interned in the capital of Estonia and partly disarmed before continuing to flee to Britain. The trip took 27 days, all without maps and navigation and was only possible due to the signals of the lighthouses. During a patrol in June 1940, the submarine disappeared without a trace and has been missing since.
The unique miniature of the submarine can be admired in our Miniature Park in Niechorze from May.

Matching the winter holidays there are a lot of snow and frost right now. If you are looking for some quiet and relaxation after a long snowy day, our Miniature Park is the right place. The larger models are standing outside in our beautiful winter landscape. Most miniatures are currently in our large, comfortable and of course heated hall. We are open from 9:00 to 17:00 o'clock. Do not forget your camera!

Last year on August 11th the Cardinal and Archbishop of Cologne - Joachim Meisner - visited our Miniature Park. He was fascinated by the facade of the Minor Basilica in Krzeszów and particularly by the statue of the Madonna. We decided to give him this part of the basilica. Recently, the bishop owns the replica of the statue of the Madonna. We hope that this unique monument will always remember him visiting our Miniature Park in Kowary.

The founder and owner of the Miniature Parks - Marian Piasecki - was nominated in the survey for Personality of the Year 2013 in Jelenia Góra. Every year this title is awarded to a person who has supported through their involvement the developement of the region. The competition runs until the end of February and we are looking forward to the result.
